Your Monkey mind is the monkey in you , the wanderer , jumping from thought to another , as it has much to play when the mind can process more than fifty thousands thoughts a day.

This may sound like fun but we as humans are always troubled and our minds are filled with anxious worries and pressures of life. So as there are always two path ways, we have here too. One is the ‘monkey mind’ which looks outside and focuses what we can’t control. This usually leads to the blame game, frustrations and feeling of helplessness and disempowerment. We lose our center of focus and get nervous and frustrated.

We tend to forget who we really are , what we are capable of

The other is called the ‘monk mind’ through which we look inside ourselves and focus on the things that we can control like the way we see our surroundings , what we perceive of the stories and what we choose to tell ourselves. This leaves us to feel empowered , controlled , satisfied and competent.

The monkey mind opts to seek gratification from material things like money, glamor, fame, wealth where as the monk mind travels the adrenaline of happiness through inside by seeking happiness through personal growth and development, social connections and contributions.

In situations the monkey mind is distressed , it switches to look for immediate solution on the problems by creating a physical and emotional imbalance like turning to unhealthy activities like binge eating, smoking and alcohol Whereas the monk mind rarely feels unwell and aims to work on the root of the problems through positive energy , mindfulness and meditation.
